It was the sizzling highlight of Harley van Dangerfield’s exotic routine, winning the Adelaide dancer a spot in last week’s Miss Nude Australia championships.
But the devastated 30-year-old has sworn off using flames in her act after they set the stage of a Hindley St strip club alight and sent hundreds of terrified patrons fleeing.
“I was so gutted when it happened and I didn’t know what to do and, literally, with tears in my eyes, I kept performing,” says Dangerfield, a former drug user and domestic violence survivor who used the fire to symbolise her resilience.
