Having 200 spiders – including the deadliest in the world – take up residence in your home would send most people running in fear. But not Eamon Amsters. When Queensland Museum closed its doors last month it was amid itsSpiders! The Exhibition display, but spider assistant Mr Amsters put up his hand for a job most would consider terrifying. He took the 50 spiders home to keep them safe. Among them is the world’s most toxic spider, the Sydney funnel-web. He’s also got tarantulas, trapdoor spiders, huntsman, redbacks, and mouse spiders, adding to the 50 arachnids he already had at his home.
