Don't let coronavirus get in the way of your big day when you can still get hitched in memorable fashion - in your car.
A group of Belgrave Heights celebrants are offering drive-through ceremonies to help people get married in these days of lockdown.
The state government’s Stage 3 restrictions mean only five people can attend weddings - the couple, a celebrant and two witnesses - but celebrants Mel Jacob, Klara McMurray, Zena Lythgo and Kate Morgan have found a way around that follows the social-distancing regulations yet allows couples to be married in their chosen location.
The wedding ceremony takes place while the couple are in their car, with the paperwork passed through the window. The event can be live-streamed so family and friends can watch.
The I Do Drive Thru team are partnering with photographers, florists and car-hire companies in a bid to support the wedding industry at a time when so many events have been cancelled or postponed.
"There is still every reason to commit to marriage,” Ms Jacobs said.
