When Stevan Bubalo became a dad, he knew he would do anything for his son Maksim.
So when Maksim, still just a ­toddler, suffered kidney failure, he immediately put up his hand to ­donate one of his kidneys.
Shortly after his birth, Maksim had been diagnosed with a rare gene ­mutation disorder, Denys-Drash ­syndrome that, would eventually lead to kidney failure.
Two-and-a-half years later, and just two days after Father’s Day in 2016, that day came.
